Also known as Satine - Bloodwood is most often a deep crimson. Heartwood is a bright, vivid red. Color can darken to a darker brownish red over time with exposure to light. Applying a thick protective finish, and keeping the wood out of direct sunlight can help slow this color shift.
It is very dense and heavy - but that means it finishes well and can be nicely polished! Expect it to be a bit hard on your bits and tools but it is worth the trouble. Most often used in furniture, guitars and other instruments, inlays, handles, and turnings.
***Bloodwood is prone to cup/twist so we always recommend that is best used for smaller pieces and projects. You are unlikely to get a straight board so be prepared for some processing.
In order to offer more protective packing for shipping - our lengths are often 1/4" less than sizes listed. Need a wider width or longer length? Please email us for a quote. Custom millwork charges will apply.

This product is awesome, I have purchased other products from KJP, it's always a pleasure to deal with this company, shipping is fast and the wood that you order is what you get.
Awesome Canadian Laser Wood (and acrylic) Supplier!
LOVE everything I've ordered! It's all great quality, nice and flat, great selection and perfect for laser projects. Highly recommend KJP! Please continue to carry Houston Acrylics as well- love their acrylic colours and supporting their small business as well. The pattern ply are fun and so nice too. Thanks KJP! This Canadian laser user is so happy to have found your shop.
Juts ordered this....be warned this is not a true walnut veneer
I have ordered the craft 1/8" walnut plywood from KJP with great results, but this 'TruFlat' stuff is not real walnut. In any case, looks very different from the other laserable walnut mdf-veneered product I have from Trotec, as well as the other craft ply walnut from KJP- which is good for lasering, btw. Order a sample first. It is very flat tho, but lookswise its not what we were looking for... not going to get this again.
